If you’re ready to step up your makeup routine and want to know exactly how to use these brushes like a pro, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a step-by-step guide to achieving a flawless makeup look using the MY YUMMY BRUSH COLLECTION…
Starting out with base, I paired the Danessa Myricks YUMMY SKIN MOISTURE REPAIR BALM SERUM with the MY 6 - MY YUMMY SHAPER - FLAT ANGLE. The soft angle of this brush allows me to reach all the contours of my face and make sure my base is super hydrated before starting any makeup!
Moving onto priming, I opted for YUMMY SKIN BLURRING BALM POWDER, this miracle product can be used as a primer, light coverage foundation, contour or highlight and even a finishing powder! I paired it with the MY 8 - MY YUMMY FLUFFY ANGLE - LARGE as the smaller, flat brush head allows me to pinpoint certain areas of my skin to mattify such as my T-zone.
For foundation I reached for the classic YUMMY SKIN SERUM FOUNDATION and paired it with the iconic MY 1 - MY YUMMY BASE - LARGE ANGLE. For me, this is a match made in heaven! The super dense fibres of the MY 1 allow you to work product into the face and make it look like a second skin, even with a heavier base this brush blurs the line between skin and makeup.
To conceal I like to use a slightly flat brush as I feel it gives a more full coverage finish so I opted for the MY 10 - MY YUMMY FLUFFY ANGLE - SMALL. I used the flat side of this brush in a bouncing motion to build up coverage and used the fluffier tip to blend out and soften any harsh lines.
I love a deep bronze and the MY 5 - MY YUMMY SHAPER - LARGE ANGLE helps me to achieve it seamlessly! The super soft fibres have enough flex to adapt to all contours of the face and the fluffiness of the brush tip blends product flawlessly. I paired this with the Danessa Myricks Balm Contour, this product comes in the most perfect bronzey tones that are neither too warm nor too cool!
The YUMMY SKIN BLURRING BALM POWDER FLUSHED is an absolute staple in my kit! It sits at the intersection of balm and powder so it never feels dry or cakey. I like to pair it with the MY 13 - MY YUMMY AIRBRUSH - SMALL TAPER. The tapered tip allows for perfect placement and a more precise blend!
To finish the base I dusted on the Danessa Myricks Evolution Powder with the MY 21 - MY YUMMY TARGETED FLUFF - LARGE. The smaller tapered brush tip allows for a targeted application, which is perfect if you're a dewy makeup girly like me!
For brows I jumped in with the MY 39 - MY YUMMY EDGE - BROW DEFINER. Having a duo ended brow brush is super important to me as it saves space in my kit but also saves time when doing makeup! The flat angle side helps to carve out the shape of the brows whilst the spoolie side brushes each hair into place, making it easier than ever to achieve a great brow!
Moving through to eyes I went in with the MY 27 MY YUMMY APPLICATOR - SOFT to carve out the shape of my eye. Starting in the outer corner I used the flat side to pack product on and the rounded tip to blend the shadow through into my crease. This brush works perfectly for this technique as the denser fibres allow for ultimate product pick up and pay off.
If you know me you know my makeup is never complete without a feline flick! The MY 38 - MY YUMMY EDGE - ANGLED has a tiny angled edge that fits snugly into the lash line as well as creating the finest flick. This brush has quickly become one of my favourites for creating a super sharp line with either cream of powder products!
To finish off this look I applied the VISION FLUSH by Danessa Myricks to my lips using the MY 36 - MY YUMMY EDGE - ROUND. The round edge of this brush fits into the cupids bow whilst the flat side perfectly lines the lip!
